In my office, on my floor, we have 1 general-use coffee pot that has 3 burners. Traditionally, that's 2 pots of regular coffee, and a caraffe of water that heats up for the tea drinks and other hippies. We've recently added an additonal 50% of our staff, and we've got all these contractors in here. And one of them has taken the orange caraffe for water and started brewing decaf in it. WTF?!? I didn't even know we had decaf coffee around here. Plus, why does one person think they outrank 4-5 tea-drinking hippies? And Who the fuck drinks decaf coffee anyway? What's the damn point? It's like alcohol-free beer. Or those marijuana pills with the THC taken out. |

A woman comes in with a Rage DVD video, and some CD that I can't remember. She bought it from us used, and apparentally neither would work in her players. She wanted her money back. EVERYBODY knows that NO ONE will give you a refund on opened CDs, DVDs, or Game titles for obvious reasons. Well Hastings policy is to let them trade it for the same product, or we can buy it back from them, but they wouldn't get much out of them. In extreme cases, like this one, we may offer to refund it on a Hastings gift card. I offered her all these choices. She asked me if there was a sign that told of our policy. I took her reciept and flipped it over and showed her that. While reading it, she was saying "This is bullshit. I'll never shop here again." Etc. I then told her why the policy is the way it is, and I also told her that just about everybody follows it. "That's fucking ridiculous, etc". She walks off with her stuff saying, "Too bad for you guys, I'm never going to shop here again." Now here's the weird/funny part. You all know what I look like, right? As she walks out she calls me a, get this, "Fucking Redneck". Nice, huh?
