My satellite is the basic package and I added $5 to get the DVR service. Costs about $39 after taxes...this includes a dual receiver. $39+$60 = $99...I'm not sure what the mandatory package is about I'd probably go with the cable if I had it to do over again. No commitment to and damn land line for 1, and for 2, it doesn't quick working when your watching during a thunderstorm...oh and for 3, your weather channel has your local weather. There is a strong difference by peeing IN the pool and peeing INTO the pool.
