I agree about the animation, but I think if they would have cut the CGI and kept it to the drawings it would have been fine. They said from the beginning that the art style was going to be the same as the original comic books, which I feel they captured, cept for that gross CGI.

The CGI, I feel, was so bad, it made the flaws in the other animation stand out. For instance there was on scene where a staff was passing right through a person. At the same time the two dragons vere fighting above, since they had the two side by side it mad the staff kinda stand out to me. Also trying to make the flames of the burning people look real was kind of a bad effect.

I only hope they finish the trilogy, I think they should have drawn them all at one time, so that way the voice actors cant back out for later ones.

I had the misfortune of reading Summer Flame. If you haven't read it, steer clear and just let book 3 be the finishing point. Book 4 takes it in a whole new messed up direction kinda like the Highlander series.

Search your feelings, I feel the conflict within you. Let go of your hate.

never did read that one. My fav dragonlance trilogy was the twins.....cause raistlin was like the coolest char in a book till Drizzit. and now i kinda hate it that everyone has read all the Drizzit books....dsnt make him as cool. Its kinda like when everyone started listening to Metallica.....i LOVED them till then...then it was like.....fucking pussies

I just watched it, and was both really cool, and kinda... lame's not a good word, but the animation was really rough to watch. I thought they did a great adaptation, and remembering the book as it went along, I caught a lot of subtle things they threw at you. So it was definitely worth the watch, if just for nostalgia.

Hey, did anyone ever read the 4th book in the Dragons trilogy? Dragons of Summer Flame?

i totaly agree with saint. I did not like the cgi/drawn animation blend. Raistlan was keefer sutherland and tanis was lex luthor from smallville and all the cast did a pretty goog job in that respect. i DO think you will enjoy it if you have read the book......BUT.....in my humble opinion....the artwork both drawn and cgi was very piss poor.

its a good solid rental at a RedBox which is where i rented it...hard to beat $1.00

Ok, so I picked it up yesterday and watched it. My honest take is that it's worth US seeing it because we know the story and have always wanted to see DL make it to some sort of movie/video. But honestly, I found it a little hokey. The animation felt very awkward with blended CGI and standard animation and even the standard animation was below the standard of a GI Joe cartoon, I thought. Still, it's worth watching, even if just for the nostalgic value. pout

They have released a little mini featurette of the music from the upcoming DL movie. This little bit includes a portion of the main theme. I'm very pleased.Smile

Yeah, so was Star Trek. And you see what that turned into...Smile

Though, it's hard to fuck up any D&D story that starts off with strangers in a tavern, and "suddenly, you're attacked by..."Smile

Fuck Yeah!!!!!!

Oh yeah here's another one for you Dragonlance fans. If you didn't know Devils Due has been doing the Comic of Cronicles just in case you didn't know. I think some are already in Graphic Novel format. If you don't feel like searching for each issue. Also if your into Salvatore and the Character Drizzt they've been doing the Dark Elf series as well.
